We were commissioned to remove, conserve and remount the Iznik ceramic tiled fireplace situated in the corridor adjacent to Gallery 33. Lichfield Cathedral, Staffordshire - Bishop Selwyn’s Memorial

Bishop Selwyn’s memorial is decorated with Minton tiles, some of which had separated from the substrate. The on-glaze decoration had also degraded in places. Heritage Tile Conservation was commissioned to remove, restore and reinstate the defective tiles and to consolidate the fragile on-glaze decoration.
