oject: Iznik Chimney
Client: Victoria & Albert Museum

We were commissioned to remove, conserve and remount the Iznik ceramic tiled fireplace situated in the corridor adjacent to Gallery 33. The fireplace was to form part of a touring exhibition of Islamic artefacts, so it was essential to design and construct a lightweight, demountable structure to support the exhibit. Iznik Chimney

Bracknell Station, Market Street, Bracknell, Berks

Heritage Tile Conservation was commissioned to remove, restore and reinstate the terracotta mural of the ‘Bluebell’ locomotive approximately 50 metres along the facade of the station building. It measures 9 metres long by 3 metres high, designed by Mrs. Jane Emmerson, and depicts a 4-4-2 Radial Tank Locomotive built in 1885 for the London & South Western Railway by Messrs. Neilson & Mitchell of Glasgow.

The images illustrate the mural laid out in our workshop during restoration, refixing on site and reinstatement completed.
